lenten experience

Holy Thursday.

fish and chips + art installations we enjoyed.

an ordinary day won't allow us to appreciate and enjoy this place...too much shoppers and stuff..

everybody's contemplating...reflections redefined...the work world stopped...

all i wanted was to sit in this couch...to think, to stop, and to feel the quietness...

anyway, my love for chairs prevailed...can't stopped clicking..

and of course, feet shot.

waited for the midnoon sun to capture this...

how's your holy week?

ACB Day

the ballet kids and ballet moms took the first ferry trip to iloilo city..

the weather in iloilo was not just hot, or sunny hot...i swear, i cannot describe the sticky heat we've felt that day...after breakfast we then proceeded to the venue for a quick rehearsal and familiarization of the studio...it was way way smaller than what the kids were used to, so the quick rehearsal wasn't that quick anymore.

after that, we grabbed lunch at the nearest mall we could find...then we decided to dress the kids there since it was much comfortable changing in the mall rather than in the studio. luckily, i found a breastfeeding area near the restrooms, so there you go, dressing room!

walked back to the studio...

after clipping their corresponding numbers, the kids needed some stretching using the wall since the floor was full of dirt and they might ruin their brand new uniform..

a Prayer before getting into the exam room...no parents or teachers allowed.

so here's teacher dwight peeking at the small hole at the back door..lol!

the kids with Miss Roberts from the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet.

results will be released two weeks after, so maybe these coming days we'll have it.

so proud of you kids!

ballet mom

as a stage mother that i am, this coming sunday's exam with Australian Conservatoire of Ballet in Iloilo City is giving me an extra doze of excitement..i hope the kids are not that nervous as i am..haha

they got a new ensemble for sunday, and will be using this in class after the exam. i took a quick shot of the early birds in the studio this morning...

the boy and mabe belongs to primary level, the girls in dark blue are in pre-level 1

and here are some shots of the kids during lunchbreak, while waiting for the 1pm contemporary dance class...

(these are taken while im eating lunch, we decided to have our lunch at the studio to avoid the scorching heat of the sun...some are blurry..hehehe taken with my point and shoot sony cybershot, forgot to set the cam)

i am loving the new colors of the studio right now, and so with the kid's leggings, so summer..lol!

this is a motherly post...can't help it, i'm such a proud mama.

have a great day everyone!

this day of the month...a year ago.

i remember this day of last year clearly, April 11, friday, i was in Baguio. my second home, my getaway, my peaceful haven...

i left bacolod, not an inch of sleep, packed my bags at 2am, on my way to the airport at 4am. my week wasn't good, it was more than bad, i wanted to call it the worst months of my life. i don't want to elaborate. what i knew was, going to Baguio for my cousin's wedding was the best part of everything bad that was going on.

the moment the plane took off, i was already asleep, i did not care if i snored, all i wanted was to close my eyes and doze off...woke up when plane touched down naia 3..it was the most peaceful sleep i had in months...

i met up with my cousin dolly at the airport, whose flight from LA was an hour earlier than mine. i found her and our aunt tess waiving at me from the glass door exit...then we're off to baguio ..thank God we took the deluxe bus, it was the most comfortable ride to baguio ever..with reclined seats and foot rest, bathroom, bus stewardess and snacks! i love you de luxe bus, i love you cousin la selle for sponsoring our tickets, i love tita tess for purchasing our tickets in advance..since tickets must be bought in advance and the bus company do not have a website for online purchase.

me and my cousin dolly at aurora hill waiting shed

the 5-hour trip was the best too, why? i slept..slept and slept. my aunt and my cousin dolly was amused, i am the sleeping beauty of the trip.

with my grandmother conchita madrid costales

the wedding was April 12, a saturday, i had to be back to bacolod monday, so meaning..i left baguio 1am of April 14, a monday...then arrived in manila and reached the airport around 7am, my flight to bacolod was 9am...my flight was delayed, left manila around 10:30am...

to sum it all up, the trip was a breather, the stress i've been suffering that time was beyond my control...i might have gone gaga without the trip. i thanked nonoy, my colleague, for taking over my responsibility for 4days that i'm away from all the chaos...i thanked my husband for letting me travel alone (i already did that when i was 16 though...), and most of all, i thanked God for giving me the chance to reflect...to keep in touch with the real world, and for giving me the time to sleep :))

AND i went back to work April 15, tuesday, like nothing happened...and back to my reality.

summer fun!

here's what keeps mabe busy every tuesday, thursday and saturday...9:00am to 11:30am ballet, then lunch, then back to studio 1:00pm for contemporary dance...can you imagine me huffing and puffing? the schedule makes me stoned with boredom waiting...but it's okay, most of the time i can manage to keep myself busy.

this coming sunday, we're off to iloilo city for the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet exam...goodluck mabe!

never fond of beauty pageants...but,

when i got a text message from rems if i wanted to join her hubby owen of osb digital photography to shoot Lin-ay sg Negros, i said yes!

since pana-ad park was just one trike ride away from my house, i rushed to the venue immediately. i was eager to use my brand new china-made 'idiot lights'..hehehe

so here we are...waiting for the 8pm program, which started around quarter to 9pm! imagine that!

i can say that the lightings of this year's pageant was great...and the stage design was better than previous years...

remember syphil, she was one of our models in Point and Shoot Basic Photography Workshop Batch 1 last February...she was in the top ten candidates that night.

this guy is mark abaya...singer, actor, son of director marilou diaz-abaya, if i'm not mistaken..

the whole program lasted for about 5 hours...not good..my feet and legs were killing me.

the girl all the way from hinoba-an won...she's pretty. (what a way to describe a beauty queen...hehe sorry, i'm not just into pageants)

but my congratulations to everybody!

thank you owen...i had a great time shooting and playing with the lights and angles..
