sheba

i know sheba from way way back...my first kundirana concert was with sheba, we were 13 years old then. i can vividly remember what i wore in that concert, a t-shirt tucked in a brown shorts with matching sling bag (yeah, i tucked my shirt in! i used to have waist you know!)..but sheba and i were not classmates nor schoolmates, she went to an exclusive school for girls..while me, i was in an exclusive school for boys (haha!)...we lived near each other that's why.

sheba's a nurse based in chicago..and she's getting married this friday. for the past few days since her arrival here in the city, i tagged along with sheba as she goes about with the wedding details.

honestly, i haven't seen sheba for more than 10 years! yeah, i think so...but nevertheless, sheba and i are kindred spirits.

she's tying the knot with this cool guy owen...he's from northern negros, went to an exclusive school for boys (oh! we're schoolmates owen!) hahaha

i wrote about this couple because every wedding i saw, even in television, i cry..(though i know the reason why, i won't tell you of course)...so every wedding of friends that i'm invited to, i really treat it as something cordial. i felt special too...a wedding is a momentous and once in a lifetime celebration, being invited to witness such event is something you cannot just take for granted.
i will always be there for you sheba...we may not be the bestest friends ever but i'm just here sheb...

Goodluck! see you tomorrow...

would you?

when i saw this red rose facing down i wondered and wanted to asked so many things, 'are you crying rose?'...'are you hurt?'...'why?' (of course the rose didn't answer me back, hello!)

seriously, do we really care? if rose is your friend, would you reach out....listen...and help?

what difference would you do?

burger in the city

last thursday was fooda time for sue and the cat. after our meeting with the chief we went to a mall and bought some stuff and shoes, then grab something hot at hongkong kitchen, i forgot to take a picture of the not-so-hot wanton that was a disappointment but i don't want to elaborate because it will just ruin my blog about a must-try burger here in the city.

goofed around while waiting in line to pay for the shoes, picture taking not allowed but this was taken by sue using her iphone...haha (charice isdatchu?)

back to that must-try burger, after leaving the mall we went to find tio sid's burger in narra st. in shopping area..not so hard to find, it's just a stall away from the rural bank ..but don't expect a lot, they just serve burgers, a small space with square tables and plastic monoblock chairs will greet you.. but i tell you, the burger is something else. not your typical fastfood burger, patties are thick and juicy and they have a number of burger combinations so you have lot of choices.

after taking a bite of tio sid's burger, i remember the burger i used to eat at the canteen  in front of pal office at the old airport in the city. yummy...

fooda time with close friends are always fun..i hope we would do it again sue!

have you tried this burger?

workshop with owen.

an old friend from college, owen of osb digital gave a basic photography workshop this afternoon. unlike other workshops that mostly covers post processing, owen tackled more on photojournalism, knowing the settings of a camera, whether a point and shoot or a dslr, understanding light and speed, actual photoshoot and critique session after the shoot WITHOUT post processing...

during a short break, while the guest models were getting their make-up done, i had a chance of taking these shots with the kids playing around the venue..

thank you to models michelle, odessa, and cyphil...

of course, a photoshoot without my feet shot is not complete :))

photography workshop with owen was fun. i had a great saturday. thank you owen!

by the way owen, i'm looking forward to the second workshop :)

rain rain rain

while blogging about my love for the rain last tuesday, sad to say that the northern part of negros was flooding...with all honesty, my heart goes out to the people whose houses were swept away, and those families who were left homeless...i hope the local government units have done their part in serving the people in hard times like these.

the flooded part of negros, specifically silay, talisay, eb magalona, and victorias were part of my saga (yeah i called it saga) last year, before the election...but since this is a happy/'moving on' blog i'm only telling you the funny moments...funny to me and to my partners in crime...namely: panu the bodyguard, george the driver, hmmm ok, monching the other bodyguard, i will include you na lg miskan i don't feel like including you..lol.

but the pictures below cannot tell the whole funny stuff that i want to blog because the rest of the  pictures were stored in my calculator phone that bugged down after election, so sayang the pictures :(( but i will try to tell  you the story behind the shots...

below is the mode of transportation in one area of silay..it's called 'bagoneta', it uses the old railway tracks..it can accommodate 4-5 people...i had fun riding plus i got to drive it after.

while waiting for the chief to finish his campaign talk with the locals of this area in silay, i found a n ugly abandoned doll...it's my version of baby alive who've gone poor. haha..

after leaving baby alive area, same day, next stop is another place for a campaigin sortie, since no other place to rest but under this mango tree, but i had to share it with her. yes, her..and she's preggy i think.

in a small boat in eb magalona..went to the islet at the back, home for more than a hundred people whose daily income is from producing dried fish.

i took this photo, so imagine me in my reebok running shoes, jeans, sling bag, campaign stuff in left hand, calculator phone in the other, stepping in super slippery stones, and dipped in this shallow river in talisay..don't ask me what's this photo for..

'ohh, there's more ladies over there', water splashing as i stepped and catch up...while i saw panu and george on the dry side of the river, laughing at me.

this was in the shoreline area of eb magalona. those were the times that i hated sea sands. i had a hard time walking fast, so heavy on my feet, sands getting inside my sneakers.

in one area in talisay proper, smart dog huh..he came from the market, bought some stuff for his master, he haggles prices too! joke.

blurry shot taken at the old hospital in patag, silay...its near midnight. yes, midnight. still on a campaign sortie, now with some youth groups having a team building whatever. i swear, the place was a perfect horror movie location. we left around 1am, reached talisay around 2am, we had dinner at a 24-hour chicken/pork inasal serving outlet...was home around past 3am, had to get up again at 6am for the 8am campaign sortie..uggghhhh!

i hate it, i have a lot of stories and i wasn't able to recover my photos...not to mention the time i slipped and fell on my back in a public laundry area, i short, 'labadahan', in silay...think of mossy and wet laundry area, me on my back, can't even get up all by myself...aaahhhh!

but that was all over now. i don't know why i was there with the chief either..but everything's good for me now. i am loving it.

i hope the areas i've been to in the north recovers, i hope the people recovers..

because i'm still loving rains, and cold weather :)
