countryside

The following photos made me think of the lyrics in a Jose Mari Chan song (but I want to hear the Lea Salonga version)

Maybe then we could go for a ride
Drive down to the countryside
Get away from the gray
And frenzied hurly-burly of the city life...

However in the photo below, that kind of practice puts everyone in the road in danger. I don't want to discuss Republic Act 9003 here, but sugarcane field burning or whatever is the exact term for that, is very dangerous. I know there are a lot of options in the burning schedule, I hope they listen to the blow of the wind before doing it.

Zero visibility when we passed by that killer smoke. Scary.

wonderful weekend

It felt so nice to take time off in the highlands and get away from the scorching heat of the city, spend time with family, savor these mouth watering delights and enjoy the wilderness of this place we called, uma (farm)...

a truly wonderful weekend indeed.

how's yours?

this day of the month...a year ago.

i remember this day of last year clearly, April 11, friday, i was in Baguio. my second home, my getaway, my peaceful haven...

i left bacolod, not an inch of sleep, packed my bags at 2am, on my way to the airport at 4am. my week wasn't good, it was more than bad, i wanted to call it the worst months of my life. i don't want to elaborate. what i knew was, going to Baguio for my cousin's wedding was the best part of everything bad that was going on.

the moment the plane took off, i was already asleep, i did not care if i snored, all i wanted was to close my eyes and doze off...woke up when plane touched down naia 3..it was the most peaceful sleep i had in months...

i met up with my cousin dolly at the airport, whose flight from LA was an hour earlier than mine. i found her and our aunt tess waiving at me from the glass door exit...then we're off to baguio ..thank God we took the deluxe bus, it was the most comfortable ride to baguio ever..with reclined seats and foot rest, bathroom, bus stewardess and snacks! i love you de luxe bus, i love you cousin la selle for sponsoring our tickets, i love tita tess for purchasing our tickets in advance..since tickets must be bought in advance and the bus company do not have a website for online purchase.

me and my cousin dolly at aurora hill waiting shed

the 5-hour trip was the best too, why? i slept..slept and slept. my aunt and my cousin dolly was amused, i am the sleeping beauty of the trip.

with cousins
with my grandmother conchita madrid costales

the wedding was April 12, a saturday, i had to be back to bacolod monday, so meaning..i left baguio 1am of April 14, a monday...then arrived in manila and reached the airport around 7am, my flight to bacolod was 9am...my flight was delayed, left manila around 10:30am...

to sum it all up, the trip was a breather, the stress i've been suffering that time was beyond my control...i might have gone gaga without the trip. i thanked nonoy, my colleague, for taking over my responsibility for 4days that i'm away from all the chaos...i thanked my husband for letting me travel alone (i already did that when i was 16 though...), and most of all, i thanked God for giving me the chance to reflect...to keep in touch with the real world, and for giving me the time to sleep :))

AND i went back to work April 15, tuesday, like nothing happened...and back to my reality.

my obsession with feet shots...

my header says it all (all my feet in different occasions, places, and time)....and this may sound ewwww to you but my obsession with feet shots seemed contagious.

here's my feet at the airport, while waiting for our flight back to bacolod last september 2010....im wearing a grendha flats by the way...haha

below were muddy pairs of feet when we went to a no road road trip in republic...literally, no road, so we had to walked and trekked...mud was knee high if you wanted to plunge your feet on the road, really, so we had to look for a not-so muddy part of the road...and our feet looked like these after...haha (there's a photo of my adidas hiking sandals at the header above)

taken last monday....borrowed the espadrilles of my niece april...clever huh..i know its rainy and muddy so why risk my own shoes...i've learned from experience...(look at second photo from above)

i even took a photo of my husband's hiking shoe. taken also at the airport while waiting for our flight...

and this is the funny part...this shot was taken by mabe using our sony point and shoot camera. she saw me pictured my feet a lot of times wherever, and whenever...so this was her version...my feet, blurred...i'm wearing an ipanema slippers ( i don't know what its style called.)

and this was her feet, wearing an ipanema slippers too...blurred again!

what can i say? contagious indeed... happy cat...happy feet!!! ---- and oppsss...i'm a size 9 by the way :))

have a nice day everyone!
