i started to set-up my own emergency kit last year. i thought about it when hubby and i were browsing some mountaineering gears and equipment in a mall here in the city. i saw an emergency blanket which is so handy, so compact and lightweight...that's when i told myself to make a kit when i reach home.
however, my emergency kit is not complete, i still need some more things to stash in it.
i found this lunch bag in our kitchen with water-proof and thermal insulator-like material...for me, this is a perfect emergency kit bag. i just added some dividers inside..
this is the blanket i'm talking about...
my candles are too small, i need to change it to bigger ones. check out my match, hehehe
for cuts and wounds, and for slight fever, some gauze, sterile alcohol prep, medical tape, and mask..there's a kool fever patch too..and ooh i forgot to take a photo of the paracetamols and other tablets i gathered in a plastic pouch.
below are hotel toiletries (hehehe) i kept during travels, sewing kit, toothpaste and toothbrush, and disposable underwears.
assorted plastic bags...
multi-function pocketknife, i have two, the one in black pouch and the other with spoon and fork...then i have pentel pen which is very important when it comes in survival thing, whenever disaster strikes and you need to find shelter in a building for example, you have to put a sign or write in a wall that you are inside that building, and include the number of people you're with so that rescue to save your group is much easier and quicker.
these are cable ties, i swear these are very useful. i sometimes use this when i forgot my luggage lock. the other thing beside the cable ties above are toothpicks..oh well, you'll never know..you might need it.
and of course, after the rain, mosquito strikes! so this is important.
there you have it. my not-so-perfect emergency kit. i have one essential thing that i completely forgot to put in here: flashlight.
there you go. i need to list down all the stuff to be added. let's all be prepared, having this kit will not hurt our pockets...some are just in our household waiting for us to gather altogether.
goodluck everyone!
