sound mode: On

i'm a hermit when it comes to artists like the singers of this song, i only knew justin bieber thru mabe (only last year) and chris brown, no idea at all..lol! but i really like this song...makes me feel good and keeps my pms away from my mind.

the beat reminds me of my other favorite. this one i know from my own generation...

and this too...

thank you to hubby's tiny speakers that i tinkered a bit because i don't know how this gadget works, too complicated for me haha.

i'm alive again.

1..2..3..say cheese!

pffftt...boredom.

typhoon juaning

it's a minute before 4:00AM, i am still awake. the rain is pouring hard with strong winds. typhoon juaning is ravaging southern and central luzon, it slowed down and intensified further according to Pagasa update as of 10:00pm (that's six hours ago). negros is not even listed in signal warnings, yet we can feel its rage.

when i was a teenager i would sleep like a log during storms like this, while my mother was wide awake waiting for any trees to fall down or tv and radio antennas from the roof. i would wake up in the morning and find my mother or my brother all wet from picking and fixing whatever the storm broke.

right now my daughter is in bed sleeping, she'll be up in an hour to get ready for school, while i'm still awake blogging my fear away. with this kind of wind, i hope my smartbro antenna is all nailed up there or else i'll be soaked up wet picking up the parts in the ground.

God Bless the people in southern and central luzon. let us all pray for our safety.

my CityVille Tour...

warning: this is a crazy post.

i started playing last year, then a couple of months ago i stopped because hubby was home and we took some vacations. now i'm so behind!

anyway, let's go take this crazy tour of my cityville or better known to me as my Republic, the highly urbanized and well-planned city...lol! (way way better than my real city)

Welcome to the City Hall,  as soon as you step in the city hall grounds everything is within your reach. The emergency clinic is just beside the police station and the courthouse as well. The post office stood on the side, along with the clerk's office, city works, the city library, the wedding hall, and the visitor's center. It's a one stop shop for your official and business transactions.

speaking of visitors, you can enter Republic by sea through its two existing Ports, below is the city port for bigger vessels transporting tourists. upon reaching the dock, tourist can visit the oceanarium and drop by the tourist shoppe for some souvenirs.

second is a smaller pier for boats transporting goods. beside the pier is a crab shack for some fresh seafoods and a tavern for some beers.

still on transportation, Republic is now constructing a bridge going to the neighboring island. (ahem, so i am not just building a non-sense flyover thing you know, it's a bridge, a gateway for great opportunities, hehehe)

now, what to buy and where to eat: you can explore the streets of the two commercial areas just across the city hall.

below is the high-end area, more like the greenbelt of republic, where the designer bags and shoes are, the jewelry store and some cosmetics, the deli's and so on...

then here's the area for the masses. this is the place where you can find the supermarket, the hardware store, the noodle house, cinema, and a couple of coffeeshops and food places.

if you want to experience something different, come and explore the chinatown in republic. try the authentic chinese cuisine and see the dragon dance performance.

have a great time exploring the back streets and nooks in republic like the alley below going to the museum.

the vacant lot below will soon be the site for the amusement park of republic.

with all these amazing sites to visit in republic, now the question is where to stay. easy, there are several options:

if you want to experience the countryside, try the bed and breakfast near the exit going out of town and enjoy the view of the farm from your bedroom windows.

if you're not the countryside type, then the hotel suites or some chic apartments and condominiums in the towers at the commercial district below is for you.

or if you're a beach person and loves waking up with the ocean as your view, then rent some beach huts or a room in the coastal house.

living in republic is a good choice and is accessible to everything. the residential area is situated in a location not so far away from the city proper. settle in your chateus and chalets or even just in a comfortable suburban house...

if you have much more, then enjoy the sprawling mansion or some estates near the bay...

just along the residential area is the school where you can send your kids...

without having much worries about pollution or such, the industrial area in republic is located at the far end of the city away from the residents.

so that's it, end of tour. crazy right?

how's your cityville like?

2 Things & 2 Things instead...

i have been wishing for this two things since last year...

maybe the watch wasn't for me, here's the story: last april we went to the Swatch store in Greenbelt 5 for this, when i saw the watch i was so happy that i can't breathe (o.a, i know!)....so i said, i want to think again whether to get it or not so i went for a walk and thought of coming back for it later. and guess what, i went back and the store was CLOSED already and  the note at the door said, store closed early and will open after the holidays (the next day is holy thursday)...by the time it opens, we're already home in bacolod.

but there's 2 things i got instead...

when we arrived home my husband handed me a Swatch Gent in Pumpkin Rebel. it was in his luggage the whole time and didn't tell me. he got it for me as present because he visited another Swatch store near his workplace and my Swatch Opulence haven't arrived there yet. another present is a Loewe Pro Sling camera bag, in lieu of the NatGeo tote i've been eyeing...

what more can i say....enjoy the blessings and thank you husband!

humble beginnings...

i am proud of this group of student journalist in the late 90's. wow, 'late 90's'...i couldn't imagine saying that, i feel old. ugh!

me on the left..

i just remembered how humble we were during those days in school, we don't exhibit any amount of self-importance. what our mentor, portia viedor, instilled in our minds is excellence in all the things that we do.

to the new generation, to the whatever generation you want to call yourselves, please please remain grounded.

think before talking.

gather your thoughts before sharing.
